2024 – Democracy Disrupted?

In 2024, more than half the world’s population went to the polls. We used this opportunity to create a picture of global democracy. We compared elections in nine countries spanning the globe and a variety of political, social, cultural, and economic contexts. 

After conducting in-depth case studies, we articulated eight overarching insights that crystallize the processes of change for democracies in the digital era.
